

1. How to activate the insurance?

In order to activate the insurance, you have to pay one of the following costs in full with your Diners Club Card:
- purchase of tickets for international travels that are made with public transportation means and/or payment for accommodation abroad; or
- car rental abroad; or
- refuelling of the car the Insured is going to travel abroad with, on the day of the departure from Poland. The refuelling must be made in Poland in order to confirm his/her departure on that day. Later on the same day, the Insured must make another card transaction out of Poland in order to confirm his/her departure on that day.
2. Does the insurance cover anybody else apart from the Diners Club Cardmember?

The insurance also covers the Insured’s travel companions:
- members of the Insured's family, provided they are under 70, namely: his/her spouse, parents, in-laws, children and adopted children under 24 who study full-time, are supported by their parents and whose place of residence is the same as of the Insured,
- up to three persons travelling on business with the Cardmember (in the case of a Corporate Card).
3. How long is the insurance active?

The insurance coverage for accidental death and permanent or partial disability starts at the moment of departure from the Insured's actual place of residence or workplace, but no sooner than the payment with the Card, and covers the whole period of travelling abroad until the Insured returns to his/her place of residence or workplace. For other events, the insurance coverage starts upon the Insured’s departure out of the borders of Poland, but no sooner than the payment with the Card, and covers the whole period of travelling abroad until the Insured crosses the Polish border on returning to Poland. Each travel is covered during its first 90 days.
4. What is the limit up to which the Insured covers the medical treatment costs himself/herself?

On the spot, the Insured is obliged to pay all the expenses up to US$ 100 related to the treatment not requiring hospitalisation and resulting from an accident. The Insured should keep all the bills, prescriptions, medical diagnoses, etc. that serve as a basis for the determination of the total costs borne by the Insured. The expenses shall be reimbursed to the Insured by the Insurance Company.
5. Is my luggage insured, too?

The Diners Club Card insurance covers the Insured as well as his/her luggage. The latter is insured against loss and delay. The luggage includes suitcases, briefcases, bags, packages with their contents, namely with the clothes and personal belongings of the Insured during his/her travel. The Insurance Company’s liability for the loss or damage of every single item, including a pair or a set, is limited to US$ 100. Items such as jewellery, watches, fur or fur-decorated products, hunting rifles, mobile photographic, cinematographic, computer or telephone equipment are insured only for theft and only when the Insured has the items on him/her or deposits them in the hotel. If the luggage is transported in a vehicle, the former is insured for theft only if it is completely invisible, in the boot of the car with all the locks locked and all the windows closed. The Insured must also prove when the event of theft took place.
6. When may I claim cost reimbursement for flight delay?

If the flight is delayed by over 6 hours, the Insurance Company will reimburse the costs of up to US$ 35,75 for each hour of delay, but not more than a total of US$ 286. The Insurance Company will reimburse the pre-paid, unused and non-repayable lodging. All the reasonable costs of board and lodging required due to the delay and not provided free of charge by the airline or by other organisation. This insurance covers exclusively those delays that are due to:
- severe weather conditions,
- strike or other actions of employees of the airline whose plane the Insured was supposed to travel on,
- delays due to a technical fault of the plane the Insured was supposed to travel on.
7. I am planning to go skiing, am I also insured on the ski run?

The insurance covers the transportation costs to the nearest medical centre equipped enough to provide proper treatment. The insurance excludes practising sports under the influence of alcohol or if practising a given discipline is related to making financial profits.
