Here, you will find information about the security features of Diners Club Cards. Diners Club Cards are known for the lowest level of theft cases worldwide. Nevertheless, it is in your own interest to check the Card’s security signs if you feel a transaction may be suspicious, or when authorising larger amounts through a terminal.
Each Diners Club Card issued either in Poland or anywhere else in the world, and bearing the Diners Club International logo, should feature the following security signs.
- A 14-digit card number that always begins with 36. The card number is always printed in three blocks: 4 digits –6 digits – 4 digits).

- ‘DC’ – additional identification sign
- ‘VP’ – internal country code (different for foreign cards)
- ‘Valid’ – the beginning of card validity period (from the first day of the month indicated)
- ‘Thru’ – end of the validity period (until the last day of the month indicated)
- ‘UEC’ – Unique Embossed Character – a special embossed protective sign in the shape of the Diners Club logo
- The Diners Club logo and DC international signs indicate that the card is valid all over the world
- Magnetic stripe with data and a security code
- Signature stripe impressed with the DC logo and protected against physical and chemical damage

- The Discovery Network logo means that the Card is accepted by the Discovery network in the US and Canada

It is also very important that the signature on the receipt matches the signature on the reverse of the card.
